How the game works

The challenge of this game is to find as many correct matches between languages and "hellos" as possible. The game page features a list of the official languages of the 45 states taking part in the European Year of Languages and a list of ways to say "hello" in these languages. Drag and drop each greeting on the language to which it belongs (see technical details for help). Please note that in one specific language two different ways to say "Hello" are accepted; either of the two can be used and will be counted as the correct answer; the other (unused) form will be left over at the end of the game.  Four greetings appear twice in an exactly identical form because they are shared by two languages; you can match either one with the corresponding language.

Then click "Continue" - and you will know many correct matches you found this time.

If you need help, there is a list of language-related online resources on the Council of Europe EYL site which you may like to consult.
